Hanna Somatics Workshop Series with Sarah Warren

Hanna Somatics is a type of neuromuscular retraining which allows you to relearn natural, efficient movement patterns, regain flexibility and range of motion, and prevent and recover from injuries. The workshops will consist of slow, gentle, relaxing movements suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Absolute Yoga's Monday PM Relax & Release class is based on the Hanna Somatics technique and this workshop will allow students (new and experienced) to delve deeper into this transformative method. You will learn exercises that you can do at home in as little as 5 minutes a day to maintain flexibility, improve coordination, warm up and cool down from workouts, and prevent injuries. 

Sunday, Febuary 7th, 1:00-3:00pm "Releasing the Lower Back & Hips with Somatics"
Learn to release chronic muscle tension held in your lower back and hips caused by overuse, repetitive movements and habituation. Chronic muscle tension in the lower back and hips can lead to conditions such as sciatica, scoliosis, disc problems, and more.  Pre-registration required. $25 early bird reg by 1/31; $30 after 1/31. Save $$ when you register for the 3-part series (Feb, March and April) only $75.
 
Sunday, March 14th, 1:00-3:00pm "Releasing the Back & Shoulders with Somatics"
Learn to release chronic muscle tension held in your back and shoulders caused by overuse, repetitive movements and habituation. Chronic muscle tension in the back and shoulders can lead to conditions such as bursitis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, and neck and shoulder pain. 
 Pre-registration required. $25 early bird reg by 3/6; $30 after 3/6. Save $$ when you register for the 3-part series (Feb, March and April) only $75.

Sunday, April 25th, 1:00-3:00pm "Somatics for the Hips, Knees and Ankles"
Learn to relieve pain and stiffness in the hips, knees and ankles caused by overuse, repetitive movements and habituation. Tightness and misalignment in the core of the body puts undue pressure on the hips, knees and ankles, leading to joint pain, tendinitis, strains, sprains, plantar fasciitis, bunions and more. 
Pre-registration required. $25 early bird reg by 4/17; $30 after 4/17. Save $$ when you register for the 3-part series (Feb, March and April) only $75.

 

Friday Night Yoga Jam (self-directed practice): "The Music of The Temptations"

Friday, Febuary 12th, 6:15-7:30pm
A Friday Night Yoga Jam is a special event where students can embark on a personal yoga practice, use the time to explore a particular yoga sequence, pose variations, playful concepts or to just to flow through the Sun Salutations at the pace and style of your choosing! This is a completely independent class where you can use the time and space to practice your heart's desire. This month will feature an all-Temptations playlist to inspire our practice and our energy.
Though a staff member will be present, there will not be instruction provided so feel free to bring any books, notes, dog-eared copies of Yoga Journal, or your own personal yoga journal..  RSVP appreciated. $13 drop-in or use your YC (1 punch).

Learn to use yoga and yogic principles to guide you to a vibrant life full of energy, freedom, and peace. This is a friendly, welcoming, and safe environment to explore yoga, nutrition, and topics that are specific to the lives and concerns of full figured women and women in general.

About the Get Your Groove On Yoga Meetup

Renew. Revive. Reconnect. And rock out to GREAT MUSIC!
The Get Your Groove On Meetup gives those who live in the Metrowest area a chance to strengthen, tone and balance their body and mind while connecting with other outgoing, wellness-minded people in the community. Each Meetup will feature a different type of music--perhaps an 80s theme, classic rock, contemporary musicians or one-hit-wonders. Meetup members will love the casual vibe and we don't give out prizes for touching your toes so don't sweat it if flexibility isn't your thing. Leave the pressure and the competitiveness at the door, there are no mirrors or people who look at you funny for putting YOUR mat in THEIR spot (yeah, we've had that happen to us too).
Class is taught by a fun and creative certified yoga instructor and welcomes athletic types as well as non-yogis. We recommend some prior yoga experience. The Weekend Itsy Bitsy Yoga Meetup features IBY classes for Toddlers and Tykes to enjoy with their parent-- on a Saturday!
Each Meetup will feature a simplified and fun-to-learn class flow where new, occasional, and ongoing students can enjoy the developmentally sound yoga postures, sweet rhymes and songs that we have all come to love. We invite you to dance the Yogi Yogi, explore your Baby Planet and practice your Tree Pose in a safe, clean and welcoming environment.

Absolute Yoga 6-Day Challenge

Get inspired! Challenge yourself to 6 Yoga and/or Pilates classes in 6 consecutive days for $66!  You can choose any six classes you want to complete your personal challenge. Simply begin your challenge on the Wednesday* kicking off the week that best works with your lifestyle and off you go!

If you complete your challenge you will receive a special gift from Absolute Yoga! *6-Day challenges must begin on a Weds due to both Tuesday classes being full and available to session students only.

Wondering if you can participate if you are already registered for a session? Session registrants taking the 6-day challenge will be credited an extra FlexPass for each class you are registered for so you won't "miss" your class! Yoga Card holders will not be issued FlexPasses as their card already has maximum schedule flexibility. Classes which are not open or eligible for this challenge are Itsy BItsy Yoga and Prenatal Yoga.

**Please note that we can accommodate one discount per workshop registration. Multiple discounts cannot be combined such as Early Bird discount plus other member discounts/coupons. We will always honor the greater discount.
